Computational Geoscientist

We are looking to expand our team of expert consultants with 15 PhD Geoscientists for part-time, fully remote work supporting frontier AI research.

About the role

This role includes stress-testing leading AI models on research-level geoscience problems, creating and verifying complex questions and explanations in your area of expertise, and assessing whether AI-generated reasoning meets the standards of a trained geoscientist.

Required skills

  • Hands-on experience in computational modeling, simulation, or large-scale data analysis.

Experience and education

You hold a PhD in Geoscience, Geophysics, Geology, or a closely related field, and you apply computational tools in your day-to-day work.

Ideal backgrounds include

  • Faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and research scientists in university geoscience, geophysics, or earth science departments.
  • Scientists at government agencies and surveys such as the USGS or equivalent national geological surveys.
  • Researchers at national laboratories working on subsurface, seismic, or geodynamic modeling.
  • Industry geoscientists in energy, mining, geothermal, carbon storage, or geotechnical and hazard consulting.

PhD in Geoscience, Geophysics, Geology, or a closely related field.

Language requirements

  • Fluent English reading and writing skills.

Compensation details

$60–$100 per hour.

  • Projects start at $60-100 USD per hour, with top-performing experts on our platform earning $150+ USD / hour.
