About the role

Role Type: Contractor.

In this role, you'll help improve how next-generation AI systems draft, evaluate, and refine legal arguments and court motions. We're looking for practicing attorneys with strong federal civil litigation experience and a proven track record of successful motion practice. You'll use your professional judgment to assess the quality, persuasiveness, and structure of AI-generated legal writing, providing feedback that reflects real-world litigation standards.

Responsibilities

Scope of Work

  • Review and compare AI-generated legal motions, assessing their persuasiveness, structure, clarity, tone, and overall quality.
  • Rank different versions of legal motions and provide clear explanations of your preferences and reasoning.
  • Evaluate whether AI-generated motions meet professional standards and identify areas requiring improvement.
  • Edit and refine legal motions to a ready-to-file standard, providing feedback on the changes made.
  • Develop realistic motion-writing assignments based on federal civil litigation scenarios.
  • Create evaluation criteria to assess the quality and effectiveness of AI-generated legal arguments.
  • Apply practical litigation experience to identify what makes legal writing persuasive, well-structured, and effective in court.

Experience and education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active U.S. bar membership in good standing.
  • Practicing attorney with substantial hands-on experience in federal civil litigation and motion drafting.
  • A proven track record of winning at least three court motions, with the ability to provide supporting court filings during the screening process.
  • Strong experience drafting substantive motions, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, or similar federal court filings.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and persuasive writing skills.
  • Ability to critically evaluate legal arguments and clearly explain what makes one approach more effective than another.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in legal reasoning, citation accuracy, document structure, and professional writing standards.
  • Experience in appellate litigation or a previous judicial clerkship combined with litigation practice is also highly relevant.
