CloudFactory

Managed remote data teams supporting AI projects worldwide

What to know

About CloudFactory

CloudFactory was founded by Mark Sears in Nepal in 2010 and is now headquartered in Reading, United Kingdom. It combines managed global data teams with software and quality processes to help organizations prepare data, evaluate models and maintain human oversight of AI systems.

The company is known for its “Earn, Learn and Serve” approach. This combines paid digital work with skills development, small-team meetings and community service. CloudFactory recruits corporate employees separately from its larger data-specialist workforce, and each route uses a different application process. After acquiring the Hasty AI data platform, CloudFactory also expanded its services beyond manual labeling into AI-assisted annotation, model evaluation and ongoing human review of systems running in production.

AI data training work at CloudFactory

Data specialists may label or curate images, video and text, transcribe audio, extract information from documents, moderate data, analyze datasets and carry out quality assurance. Projects support areas such as autonomous vehicles, geospatial technology, healthcare, insurance, finance and retail.

Contributors must meet the legal working-age requirement, have suitable computer equipment, stable internet and English proficiency. Some projects can require extra equipment or an occasional office visit, although the data specialist program currently operates primarily remotely.

What is it like to work at CloudFactory?

CloudFactory offers both part-time and full-time opportunities, on-site and remote, depending on the assignment. Some projects provide flexible 24-hour shift blocks, while others require scheduled shifts and regular online team meetings. Being admitted to the talent process does not guarantee an immediate project because assignment depends on skills, technical requirements and client demand.

Earnings are recorded in US dollars, converted into local currency when payroll is calculated and deposited monthly into your local bank account. It does not publish one universal pay rate; compensation is confirmed for the specific country and project before acceptance.

Recent company direction

For its 2026 fiscal year, CloudFactory repositioned itself as a full-stack AI platform and consulting company. It now describes four connected engines for data preparation, model training, inference monitoring and AI workflow orchestration. Human review remains central, but it may increasingly happen during live model evaluation and error handling as well as during dataset creation.

Application process at CloudFactory

The hiring process has six stages. You first submit an online application with accurate information about your skills and workstation. If your background matches a need, CloudFactory sends a platform invitation. You then set up an account, complete a skills assessment and attend training before being assigned to work.

CloudFactory says it does not charge applicants to attend data-specialist training and warns that impersonators may request money, gift cards or unrelated passwords. Verified CloudFactory channels handle recruitment and project onboarding.
