DataForce by TransPerfect

Global speech, image, video and language data projects for AI

What to know

About DataForce by TransPerfect

DataForce is the AI data contributor community operated by TransPerfect, a global language and technology company founded in 1992. TransPerfect was started by Phil Shawe and Liz Elting in New York; DataForce is the current worker brand for many of its collection and annotation projects.

The website says it includes more than a million participants, but that figure does not guarantee a project in every country.

AI data training work at DataForce by TransPerfect

DataForce projects collect or review speech, photos, video, text and other data used to train and test AI. You may record phrases, photograph permitted objects, film activities, join a conversation, annotate content, validate language or complete an evaluation. Some studies are remote; others require you to visit a collection location.

The projects page shows the live country and task mix. A campaign can require a particular language, accent, age, device, household composition or location. It is worth reading the consent and usage information carefully when the work involves your voice, image or recordings of other people.

What is it like to work at DataForce by TransPerfect?

You participate as a project contributor rather than a guaranteed employee. Many campaigns are short and pay per approved session, recording or completed dataset. Others may use an hourly arrangement. The project page or invitation is where the amount and payment route are stated.

Creating a community account does not guarantee selection. DataForce recruits to fill precise demographic and language quotas, and a campaign can close when enough valid submissions arrive. There can be long gaps between suitable projects. Submissions may be rejected if they fail technical, consent or quality requirements, so understand whether corrections are allowed.

This model can be convenient for occasional data-collection work, but it rarely provides a stable weekly schedule. The written project terms can help confirm who must give consent, what files are collected, the expected task time, when quality review finishes and when payment is sent. It can be safer not to reuse recordings or include private information that the instructions do not request.

Application process at DataForce by TransPerfect

The initial DataForce process uses a Community account or a project eligibility form. You may answer questions about country, language, age, device and availability. Some campaigns request a short sample or screening call; onsite studies can also schedule an appointment.

If you qualify, DataForce sends the project instructions and required consent forms. You may need identity or payment verification before or after submission, depending on the campaign. Passing the general account stage only gives you access to applications. Work begins only after an explicit project invitation or confirmed slot. It can be useful to keep the project description, compensation and approval criteria, and submit data only through the official TransPerfect/DataForce workflow named in the invitation.

Collection-project screening can depend on language, age group, device, location or household composition because the client needs a particular dataset balance. The invitation identifies who must consent, what media is collected, whether every file is reviewed separately and which acceptance rules apply.
