Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and produce accurate, well-formatted transcriptions.
- Handle a variety of accents, speaking speeds, and audio conditions.
- Apply consistent punctuation, formatting, and speaker-labeling conventions.
- Flag unclear or low-quality segments according to provided guidelines.
- Deliver work to quality and turnaround standards on a per-batch basis.
- Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule.
Required skills
- A strong, attentive listener with a good ear for detail.
- Comfortable typing quickly and accurately over extended sessions.
- Patient and methodical when working through difficult or noisy audio.
- Able to follow structured formatting guidelines consistently.
- Self-motivated and reliable — you take ownership of your work.
Preferred skills
- Previous experience with transcription tools or audio editing software.
- Familiarity with style guides or transcription formatting standards.
- Background in journalism, linguistics, or media production.
Experience and education
- No professional transcription experience required.
Schedule details
10–40 hours per week.

Compensation details
$40–$120 per hour.
