Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio recordings into accurate written text following clear formatting guidelines.
- Handle a variety of speakers, accents, speech speeds, and audio quality levels.
- Apply consistent punctuation, formatting, and speaker-labeling conventions.
- Flag unclear or inaudible segments and note speaker changes as needed.
- Meet quality standards and turnaround targets for each assignment.
- Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule.
Required skills
- Strong listener with a sharp ear for detail — you catch what others miss.
- Good typing speed and accuracy under real-world conditions.
- Patient and thorough when working through challenging audio.
- Comfortable following structured guidelines and style rules.
- Reliable and self-motivated — you take ownership of your work.
Preferred skills
- Experience with transcription tools or audio playback software.
- Familiarity with a variety of English accents or dialects.
- Background in captioning, journalism, media, or administrative work.
Experience and education
- No prior transcription or AI experience required.
Schedule details
10–40 hours per week.
