Responsibilities
- Design Advanced Problems — Create challenging biochemistry questions across domains like nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, enzyme kinetics, and drug-target interactions to stress-test AI reasoning.
- Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for high-level scientific reasoning in AI systems.
- Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical derivations for technical accuracy and scientific integrity.
- Refine AI Reasoning — Identify logical errors — such as incorrect stoichiometry, misapplied stereochemistry, or flawed mechanistic reasoning — and provide structured feedback to improve model performance.
Required skills
- Strong foundational knowledge in one or more of: structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, or bioinformatics.
- Able to communicate complex biological and chemical concepts clearly in written form.
- Precise and detail-oriented when working with chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental data.
Preferred skills
- Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or structured feedback systems.
- Familiarity with computational biochemistry tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST.
Experience and education
- Holds a PhD (completed or in final stages) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
- No prior AI experience required.
Schedule details
10–40 hours per week.

Work arrangement: Fully remote
Eligible countries: New Zealand
Compensation details
$35–$70 per hour.
