About the role

Your deep scientific expertise will directly shape how AI understands and reasons through complex topics — from protein folding and enzyme kinetics to metabolic flux and molecular genetics.

This is a rare opportunity to apply your research-level knowledge in a flexible, remote contract role that fits around your existing schedule. No prior AI experience required.

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects in partnership with world-leading AI research labs.
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule, as much or as little as fits your life.
  • Put your expertise to meaningful use beyond the lab — directly influencing how AI handles life science reasoning.
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and collaboration with a global community of experts.
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension.

Responsibilities

  • Design Challenging Problems — Create advanced biochemistry problems spanning nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, structural biology, and drug-target interactions to stress-test AI reasoning.
  • Author Gold-Standard Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step technical responses that serve as benchmarks for high-level scientific reasoning in AI systems.
  • Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical reasoning for technical accuracy and scientific integrity.
  • Refine AI Reasoning — Identify logical errors such as incorrect stoichiometry, flawed stereochemistry, or misapplied biochemical principles, and provide structured feedback to improve model performance.

Required skills

  • Deep knowledge in one or more core areas: structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, bioinformatics, or molecular genetics.
  • Able to communicate complex biochemical and chemical concepts clearly and precisely in written form.
  • Highly detail-oriented when reviewing chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental logic.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and asynchronously.

Preferred skills

  • Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or research review workflows.
  • Familiarity with computational biochemistry tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST.
  • Background in scientific writing, peer review, or academic publishing.

Experience and education

  • Holds a PhD (completed or in final stages) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
  • No prior AI or data annotation experience required.
