Responsibilities
- Design Advanced Problems — Create challenging biochemistry questions spanning nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, enzyme kinetics, and drug-target interactions to rigorously test AI performance.
- Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Write precise, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for high-level AI scientific reasoning.
- Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical proofs for technical accuracy and adherence to scientific standards.
- Refine AI Reasoning — Identify logical errors such as incorrect stoichiometry or misunderstood stereochemistry, and provide structured feedback to improve the model's scientific thinking.
- Work Independently — Complete task-based assignments asynchronously on your own schedule.
Required skills
- Have strong foundational knowledge in areas such as structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, or bioinformatics.
- Can communicate complex biological and chemical concepts clearly and precisely in written form.
- Have a sharp eye for detail when reviewing chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental protocols.
Preferred skills
- Experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation workflows.
- Familiarity with computational biochemistry tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST.
- Background in scientific writing or technical communication.
Experience and education
- Hold a PhD (completed or in final stages) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
- No prior AI or data annotation experience required.
Schedule details
10–40 hours per week.
Eligibility
Work arrangement: Fully remote
Eligible regions: Birmingham
Compensation details
$35–$70 per hour.
