This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You set your own schedule and work as much or as little as you want within the 10–40 hour weekly range.

Responsibilities
- Design challenging biology problems and questions to rigorously test AI performance.
- Develop clear, step-by-step solutions grounded in sound scientific reasoning.
- Evaluate AI-generated responses for factual accuracy, logical consistency, and depth.
- Collaborate with researchers to refine benchmarks spanning undergraduate through Masters-level biology.
- Provide structured, actionable feedback that directly improves AI model quality.
- Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule.
Required skills
- Strong scientific reasoning and problem-solving skills across advanced biology domains.
- Ability to break down complex concepts clearly and communicate them in writing.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and rigor.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
Preferred skills
- Experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation workflows.
- Familiarity with AI or machine learning concepts.
- Background spanning multiple biology subfields (e.g., molecular biology, genetics, physiology, ecology).
Experience and education
- Currently pursuing or have completed a Masters degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
- No prior AI experience required.
Schedule details
10–40 hours per week.
Eligibility
Work arrangement: Fully remote
Eligible regions: Chicago
Compensation details
$35–$55 per hour.
